Good News, LG G-Slate tablet will come out in April

Looks like customers in the U.S. will have to wait just a little longer before they can get their hands on LG’s upcoming tablet. T-mobile blog TmoNews is reporting an expected delay for the LG G-Slate. The new supposed April 20th release date would be about one month behind schedule of the previously latitude e6410 battery planned March 23rd launch date. An official announcement for the delay could come later this month at the CTIA tradeshow.

Reasons for a delay were not mentioned, but given the current tablet climate, there can be a number of possible causes. For one, LG may be deciding to avoid the recently launched IPad 2. The Apple tablet has been selling like hotcakes latitude e6510 battery and could overshadow new tablets that launch within the same timeframe. Therefore, avoiding a March launch can give the G-Slate extra breathing room for better marketing opportunities.

In addition to the G-Slate, the T-Mobile G2x smartphone is expected to launch at the same time, giving T-mobile customers more options for their cellular and data needs.

The 8.9-inch LG G-Slate will be equipped with a 1GHz Tegra 2 processor, 1280x768 resolution screen, dual cameras for 3D recording, Android 3.0, latitude e5510 battery and be compatible with T-mobile’s network. It was first shown at CES earlier this year. Unfortunately, prices and possible models have yet to be announced, but could be made public this month at the CTIA show. It would be unsurprising if a future Wi-Fi only model was announced, as was the case for the Motorola Xoom latitude e5410 battery and iPad 2.

More notebooks to incorporate graphics-enabled processors

Laptop gamers commonly avoid integrated graphics like the plague when it comes to shopping for new hardware. While low on power consumption inspiron 1440 battery and price, onboard graphics simply do not have the horsepower required to play most modern 3D games at even basic settings. Now, a new kind of integrated graphics is emerging as a CPU/GPU hybrid, called the graphics-enabled processor (GEM).

Intel is currently at the forefront for pushing GEMs into consumer laptops this year. This is because Sandy Bridge processors are technically GEMs as they integrate CPU EliteBook 2530P Battery and GPU into one chip and can handle graphics such as HD video flawlessly. AMD Fusion APUs, which also integrate CPU and GPU functionalities, can also be considered GEMs by this definition.

Integrated graphics have been the heart of most mass market laptops for years. According to iSuppli, however, GEMs could quickly become more common as they will be installed in “about 115 million notebooks that will ship this year, which is about half the expected shipments for all of 2011.” By 2014, the same research firm expects over 80% of all notebooks to be equipped with GEMs. Dailytech predicts that such an outcome would potentially damage the discrete GPU market dominated by Nvidia. If the company cannot offer compelling low-end EliteBook 2730P Battery and mainstream graphics solutions, its market share could begin dwindling due to the advent of GEMs. Those looking for more high-end graphics, though, will still be sticking to discrete graphics solutions.
