Acer was among the first companies to bring a dual-core Atom netbook to market for VGP-BPS9/S a price meant to trounce the competition. Though the Aspire One D255 offered an impressive design, pretty good performance, and a low $329 VGP-BPS13 price, a wonky touchpad and other drawbacks outweighed the benefits. This time, Acer is determined to get it right with the Aspire One D260, offering a slick dual-core system that fixes the flaws of its predecessor and provides features you normally don't find in VGP-BPS9/B a netbook--such as 2GB of RAM and Windows Home Premium. These perks come with a higher price tag of $399 (though you can find it for about $40 VGP-BPS9A/B less online). Is the D260 worth more than its predecessor and competing $299 netbooks?

Unlike the lower-cost Toshiba mini NB505, the blue color on the VGP-BPS9 D260 isn't just for the lid; it extends to the deck, surrounding the black keyboard. The blue of the backlit power button on the upper left doesn't match the color palette very well, but that's a minor vgp-bps13s nitpick.

Though it weighs a bit less than most other netbooks--2.6 pounds instead of 2.8--the Aspire One D260 vgp-bps13/s feels even lighter, perhaps because of its streamlined and compact chassis. We like that the bottom panel is smooth and comes off in one piece, vgp-bps13a/s similar to what we've seen on recent HP netbooks and small ultraportables. This makes upgrading components easy.

Heat

During testing and use, the D260 stayed relatively cool. We measured temperatures between the G and H keys (84 degrees vgp-bps13as Fahrenheit), on the touchpad (81 degrees), and at the center of the underside (87 degrees) and found them all well below our acceptable threshold. However, vgp-bps13b/b the area by the vent, which points down instead of out to the side, reached 104 degrees, causing some discomfort when we were using the vgp-bps13b/s netbook on our lap.

Design

This slim 10.2 x 7.3 x 0.95-inch netbook definitely has the wow factor when it comes to looks. Between the blade-like taper EliteBook 2730P Battery on the front and the in-your-face aquamarine color, the D260 will stand out wherever owners whip it out. The netbook also comes in black, EliteBook 2530P Battery charcoal, pink, and purple, all with a flake pattern.

Keyboard and Touchpad

Acer's FineTip keyboard on the D260 feels slightly cramped. The thinkpad t61 battery layout is flat like a chiclet-style keyboard, but the keys are close together like a traditional keyboard. This arrangement resulted in some typos, but at least the keys themselves supplied snappy thinkpad t60 battery feedback.

The 3.0 x 1.5-inch multitouch touchpad is nice and wide and has the same smooth texture thinkpad t60p battery as the surrounding deck; there are lines to delineate it both visually and by touch. Design

The Xoom is streamlined and sturdy but not exactly elegant. Google designed Android 3.0 so that tablet makers wouldn't need thinkpad r60e battery to include the traditional buttons found on phones. When the tablet is held in landscape mode, the two volume buttons are on the left side. Mit der Vostro-Familie richtet sich Dell speziell an akku sony vgp-bps8 kleine Unternehmen. Unser Testgerät ist mit einem Core i5 450M Prozessor, integriertem GMA HD Grafikchip, drei Gigabyte DDR3 Arbeitsspeicher VGP-BPS8a und 7200 U/min schneller 320 GB Festplatte ausgestattet. Wie bei Dell nicht anders zu erwarten, kann auch das Vostro 3300 umfassend konfiguriert werden. Auf die verfügbaren Optionen wird im folgenden im Detail eingegangen. Abschnitte, die stark von der eingesetzten Hardware abhängen, wie Leistung, Emissionen und Akkulaufzeit sind nicht unbedingt auf anderes ausgestattete Modelle übertragbar.

Gehäuse

Abgesehen von der Schnittstellenausstattung und der akku sony vgp-bps2b Größe entspricht das Gehäuse des Vostro 3300 optisch im wesentlichen dem größeren Vostro 3500. Je nach Region stehen laut Herstellerinformation drei verschiedene Farben für Displaydeckel und Seitenkanten zur Auswahl. In Dells Online Shops für Deutschland und Österreich wird der Laptop nur in Silber (Aberdeen Silver), wie auch unser Testgerät, angeboten. Dagegen sind zumindest einige Dell Vostro 3300 Modelle in den USA wahlweise in sony vgp-bps2c akku Kupfer (Brisbane Bronze) oder Rot (Lucerne Red) erhältlich. Das Gehäuse selbst wurde aus Aluminium und Kunststoffteilen zusammengesetzt und sorgfältig verarbeitet.

An der Stabilität des Aluminiumdeckels gibt es grundsätzlich nichts auszusetzen. Beim einhändigen sony vgp-bps9 akku Anheben an einer Ecke verwindet er sich nur geringfügig und unseren Drucktests hält er problemlos stand. Dabei bleiben Bildveränderungen jedenfalls aus. Die Hinterkante bleibt weiterhin aufgrund des Öffnungsmechanismusses und des Akkus ungenutzt. Die Vorderkante bietet dagegen einen 5-in-1 IBM T60 akku Kartenleser, den Hauptschalter für die Wireless-Funktionen und die beiden Audio-Schnittstellen.

Sollte die gebotene Funktionalität nicht ausreichen, so kann man das Vostro 3300 mittels ExpressCard/34 IBM X60 akku erweitern. Allerdings fehlt der, bei Businessgeräten übliche, eigenständige Dockingport. Stattdessen werden hier USB-Docking-Lösungen, etwa der Kensington SD100 USB Port Replicator um zirka 60 Euro oder auch der Kensington Universal Dock zu zirka 140 Euro in Deutschland, angeboten. Diese erleichtern das Einbinden des Gerätes in eine existierende Arbeitsumgebung und erweitern das Schnittstellenangebot. Letztere bietet auch eine digitale Bildschnittstelle in Form von DVI-D.

Die Schnittstellenanordnung ist für sowohl Linkshänder als auch IBM X60s akku Rechtshänder auch in Anbetracht des verfügbaren Platzes brauchbar. Allerdings könnte die Lage des kombinierte eSATA/USB-Anschlusses in der Mitte der rechten Seite bei Verwendung der eSATA Funktionalität für Rechtshänder weniger optimal sein.

In Bezug auf Kommunikationsausstattung und Zubehör unterscheidet sich das Vostro 3300 nicht vom Vostro 3500.

Kabelgebunden kann mit dem Realtek RTL8168D/8111D Family PCI-E GBE NIC (10/100/1000MBit) eine LAN-Verbindung aufgebaut werden. Via Dell Lenovo T400 akku Wireless 1520 Wireless-N Half Mini Card erhält man Zugang zu WLAN-Netzwerken. Dabei wird auch der Standard 802.11n unterstützt. In einigen Ländern soll auch eine Dell Wireless HSPA 2.0 Minikarte optional verfügbar sein. Den zugehörigen SIM-Kartenslot findet man im Akkufach. In Deutschland wird diese Option zur Zeit aber nicht angeboten. Gemeinsam mit der eingebauten 2.0 MP Webcam sind also Videokonferenzen via Internet kein Problem. Schließlich kann man mit der Dell Wireless 365 Karte via Bluetooth Daten mit mobilen Kleingeräten austauschen.

Auf unserem Testgerät war Windows 7 Professional 32-Bit vorinstalliert. Wahlweise erhält man das acer 5920 akku Vostro 3300 gegen Aufpreis auch mit 64-Bit Version. Für ein Downgrade auf vorinstalliertes Windows XP Professional (32-Bit) verrechnet Dell 35 Euro. Mit 23.9.2010 will Dell diese Option allerdings gänzlich einstellen. Ein 32-Bit Betriebssystem ist für die ab Werk verbauten drei Gigabyte RAM ausreichend. Sollte man aber den Hauptspeicher erweitern wollen, so ist eine 64-Bit Version anzuraten.

Neben einem Kensington Security Slot, welcher zur Acer Laptop Akku Diebstahlsicherung benutzt werden kann, hat das Vostro 3300 auch einen Fingerabdruckleser zur Verfügung. Damit kann Passworteingabe durch Einlesen des Fingerabdrucks ersetzt werden.

In der Schachtel des Testgerätes befanden sich auch Betriebssystem und Treiber und Tools DVDs. Zusätzlich akku kann man sich mit einem Dell Tool, problemlos welche erstellen lassen.

Test Sony Vaio VPC-X13D7E/B Subnotebook

761 Gramm. Einmal bitte ultraleichter Mini, möglichst klein und nicht zu stark Akku Sony VGP-BPS8 gewürzt. Wem die Basic-Eigenschaften eines Notebooks genügen, aber dennoch durch ein smartes Äußeres auffallen will, der liegt mit dem 11.1-Zoller richtig.

Mit der VAIO X-Serie präsentierte Sony Akku HP NX7400 bereits im September 2009 ein ultramobiles Subnotebook, das die Herzen designorientierter und extravaganter Anwender höher schlagen ließ. Das nur 761 Gramm leichte (mit Akku) und hauchdünne Mini-Notebook sollte Käufer ansprechen, denen Ästhetik und ein wenig Angeberei wichtig sind. Der Hersteller sprach von „Ästhetik-Fans mit Premium-Anspruch“.

Warum holen wir uns den Zwerg nach über einem Jahr abermals in die Redaktion? Sony hat den Atom-Prozessor aufgewertet. Statt eines akku sony vgp-bps2b Atom Z540 (1.86 GHz, 533 MHz FSB, 512 KB Cache) werkelt nun ein Z550 (2.0 GHz, 533 MHz, 512 KB) im dünnen Gehäuse. Kann sich dadurch die damals von den Testredaktionen als zu schwach bemängelte Leistung fühlbar verbessern? Wo kann man den X13D7E einsortieren? Netbook oder Subnotebook?

Wir wollen in diesem Test herausfinden, ob der 11.1-Zoller seinem hohen Preis von immer sony vgp-bps2c akku noch 1.400 Euro im Vergleich zu aktuellen Netbooks und Subnotebooks gerecht wird.

Gehäuse

Das Vaio X ist so hoch, wie manche vgp-bps9 Display-Panels unserer Test-Notebooks dick sind. 13.9 Millimeter misst der Mini und wiegt dabei nur 761 Gramm. Auch die Optik mit ihren zugespitzten Kanten weist deutlich darauf hin, dass wir es mit einem sehr leichten Subnotebook zu tun haben. Die Seiten des Deckels und der Base Unit sind nicht einfach senkrecht, sondern spitzen sich zur oberen Kante hin zu. Unser Finger findet daher beim Öffnen immer einen Spalt zum Auseinanderklappen des 11.1-Zollers.

Der Hersteller hat sich für matte Oberflächen entschieden. Das Gehäuse besteht aus lackierter Carbonfaser (Arbeitsumgebung, Deckelfläche) akku sony vgp-bps9/b und Kunststoff (Bodenplatte, Akku, TFT-Rahmung). Die Bodenplatte scheint matt lackiert zu sein, um hier eine höhere Griffigkeit zu bieten. Die Oberseiten, wie Handauflage und Deckel, besitzen eine glattere Haptik, aber es sind immer noch haptisch stumpfe Oberflächen.

Carbonfaser gilt als extrem bruchfest, resistent gegenüber Spannungen aber dennoch leicht. Die akku sony vgp-bps9a/b Kohlefaser ist jedoch auch biegsam. Im Rennsport wird das Material daher in dutzenden von Lagen übereinander gelegt bzw. mit Längs- und Querstreben versehen (Hohlräume), um eine hohe Festigkeit des Bauteils zu erzielen.

Das Vaio X besteht nun aus einer solchen akku sony vgp-bps13a/s Carbonfaser, auf Grund der dünnen Bauform ist aber kein Platz für Verstrebungen. Diese würde ja das Gehäuse verdicken und die ultraflache Form unmöglich machen. Aus diesen Gründen sind Chassis wie Deckel sehr biegsam. Das Wort fragil wollen wir nicht verwenden, denn die Carbonfaser ist eben nicht „zerbrechlich“.

Es gibt aber eine konstruktionsbedingte Schwachstelle, die trotz des weichen Materials hätte vermieden werden können. Der unter der Dell Latitude E6400 akku Handballenauflage sitzende entnehmbaren Akku sorgt für einen Spalt, der die Base Unit längs einmal komplett zerschneidet. Damit verliert das Chassis wertvolle Steifigkeit.

Während des Anhebens und Hantierens mit dem 11.1-Zoller ist der Spalt ständig in Bewegung dell latitude d630 akku (knarzende Geräusche). Mit einem fest verbauten Akku hätte das Chassis eine deutlich bessere Festigkeit erhalten können. In diesem Falle wäre die Bodenplatte geschlossen.

Ausstattung

Das Vaio X besitzt nicht viele Anschlüsse, diese dell inspiron 1525 akku wären schlichtweg zu groß für die kleinen Abmessungen des Gehäuses. Ein Ethernet-Port ist zum Beispiel 12 Millimeter hoch. Wie soll ein solcher in eine 9 Millimeter hohe Base Unit passen? Sony hat sich hierfür den nach unten aufklappbaren LAN-Anschluss ausgedacht. Bei Bedarf entsteht damit ein Ethernet-Port.

Der VGA-Anschluss hatte Glück, er ist nur 8 Millimeter hoch. USB 2.0 passt ebenso ans Gehäuse, jedoch nur auf der linken Seite. Auf dell xps m1330 akku seine zwei Kartenleser (SD + HG Duo) wollte Sony aber akku nicht verzichten. Aus diesem Grund befinden sich selbige direkt unter dem Touchpad. Damit jetzt noch der Akku hierunter passt, wurden die Zellen zweigeteilt und die Akkueinheit durch einen Steg miteinander verbunden.

Sonys 11.1-Zoller ist ein typisches Geschäftsführer-Zweit Subnotebook und hat deshalb akku natürlich auch eine 3G-Modul (HSUPA-Modul (7,2 / 5,76 Mbit/s) für den mobilen Web-Zugriff integriert. Der Steckplatz für die Sim-Karte befindet sich unter dem Akku.
