free CR-48 notebooks

If you were one of the many crossing their fingers in hope of Google sending a CR-48 laptop their way, then it might be time to unravel your digits. According to a tweet from a Google executive, the Chrome OS CR-48 prototype notebooks have all been shipped Akku Lenovo T61P and Google will not be accepting anymore applications to its Pilot program.

The laptops were first announced in December 2010 Akku Lenovo R61E and showcased the much awaited Google Chrome OS. In an attempt to publicize and test the quick-boot OS, Google announced a pilot program where the CR-48 notebooks were handed out for free in exchange for periodical feedback. Original estimates indicated that Google produced approximately 60,000 of these notebooks and gave them away to applicants that they deemed satisfactory.

Unfortunately, Google executive Sundar Pichai tweeted earlier this week that all the units have been shipped for now Akku Lenovo R61I and the Chrome OS will only be available via partner laptops later this year. In confirmation of the Tweet a Google spokeswoman said via email “At this time we are no longer accepting new applications for the Pilot program and no longer shipping units. We are looking forward to our partner devices later this year." The spokeswoman also indicated that the response to the Pilot program “has been fantastic” Akku Lenovo R60E and interest in the Chrome notebooks “greatly surpassed our expectations”.

While it is unfortunate that there will no longer be any free CR-48 notebooks, it is comforting to know that the Chrome OS managed to be a hit. The latest updates to the OS cleared up some known issues Akku Lenovo T60P and this should only lead to better things in the future. Thankfully, the official Samsung Akku Lenovo T60 and Acer Chrome OS notebooks should hit markets in the middle of this year and we hope to be able to get our hands on the OS at that point.

Last month, HP revealed in a special event at San Francisco its plans to reinvigorate the webOS platform. The introduction of the Veer, Pre3, Akku Lenovo T61 and the tablet TouchPad will be the first steps HP has in store for this year. Now, final release dates for the three products may be coming almost simultaneously and sooner than we expected. According to Electronista, HP CEO Leo Apotheker revealed in a Monday briefing his expected plans for the upcoming webOS devices as well as a general sales goal for future devices based on the OS.

The smartphones Veer and Pre3 and the TouchPad tablet should all be seeing a launch sometime this June, Akku Inspiron 1520 and would only be the first in a wave of webOS releases. HP plans to expand and market the Palm-developed OS to as many new devices as possible, including printers and PCs. All in all, Leo Apotheker aims for an eventual 100 million webOS devices shipped. Although no time schedule was given for such an ambitious goal, HP can very well meet this target if the platform is pushed to the same consumer awareness levels as iOS and Android. Former company Palm, Inc. is predicted to not have had the resources necessary to propel Akku Inspiron 1521 and market webOS effectively.

Unfortunately, webOS will be in for an uphill battle against the likes RIM, Apple, Akku Inspiron 1721 and Google. If HP plans to make its acquisition of Palm worth the investment, webOS will really have to take off in the long run. Thus, a lot of pressure is on the HP TouchPad to showcase the potential of webOS to a market dominated by Apple and Google.

The recent mega-tsunami that struck Northeastern Japan last week continues to disrupt many technology companies Akku Inspiron 1720 and their manufacturing chain. Now, new releases on the archipelago island may be delayed as well, including Apple’s iPad 2.

“We are delaying the launch of the iPad 2 in Japan while the country Akku G72 and our teams focus of recovering from the recent disaster” said Apple spokesperson Natalie Kerris. While the disaster is expected to cause worldwide supply issues for certain manufacturers, Kerris pointed out that the decision to delay the iPad 2 launch was not due to component shortages. Analysts, however, say that Apple could eventually be having supply issues with flash memory if the crisis continues.

For iTunes users wanting to help families affected by the tsunami, Apple has added an option in the iTunes Store to accept donations ranging from $5 up to $200. 100% of all collected funds will go to the American Red Cross, who in turn will provide aid to disaster victims.

About 5 percent of Apple’s revenue last quarter was from sales in Japan, according to Reuters. Revenue from the country rose to $1.4 billion during this period.

The original Japanese launch date of the iPad 2 was slated for March 25th, but Apple has yet to announce the revised launch date for the region. Launch delays elsewhere were not mentioned Akku HP G62 and are still on schedule.
