Blues lose for first time in five games

The official score sheet had the Blues for 33 hits Monday night against Columbus. They might have been the 33 quietest hits of the season for ThinkPad T60 Battery. After re-establishing ferocious forechecking and a physical edge recently, the Blues put forth minimal intensity against the Blue Jackets and saw their four-game winning streak come to an end with a 4-2 loss.

“I didn’t think we had much jump tonight, even when we called upon it,” Blues coach Davis Payne said. “It didn’t seem like we were able to get our gear shifted for the third period … for whatever reason. Very little net traffic, very little secondary possessions for Fujitsu lifebook t4210 battery. I thought we lost a majority of puck situations when we could have been much stronger. We’ve got to regroup.”

After running their road record to 11-3-3, the Blues are 1-3-1 in their last five away games. They will continue their three-game trip with back-to-back games Wednesday in Montreal and Thursday in Ottawa for VGP-BPS8 , vgp-bps8a fortunate on a couple of its other goals Monday, the Blues were a disjointed group in the defensive zone.

The Blues entered Monday’s game having not allowed a goal in the third period of their last three games. But just 1 minute, 24 seconds into the final period, the Blue Jackets’ Chris Clark gave his team its two-goal cushion.Clark’s fifth goal of the season came after a flurry in front of the Blues’ net of Fujitsu lifebook t4210 battery. After the Blues opened a 1-0 lead on Paul Kariya’s ninth goal this season, a power-play goal just 1:11 into the game, the Blues mustered few scoring chances. The ones they did, Columbus goalie Mathieu Garon snuffed out.

“It felt like a step backwards,” said Blues goalie Chris Mason, who made his seventh straight start. “That’s definitely not the style of hockey we were playing for Fujitsu lifebook t4220 battery. I don’t know if we got a little ahead of ourselves after winning four games. But we definitely didn’t bring the work ethic that’s helped us win those four games.”

The Blue Jackets won the faceoff battle 67 percent to 33 percent Monday and also had nine takeaways.”We weren’t executing a lot of our passes out of our zone for VGP-BPS8 ,vgp bps8a ” Blues defensman Barret Jackman said. “It didn’t give us a chance to get our legs going. A lot of turnovers keeps you stopping and starting, back and forth.”

Garon made the start despite suffering a wrist injury during Monday’s morning skate. He rushed off the ice holding his wrist after being hit by a shot in practice, but then shook it off in time to play for A1175 battery .”Five minutes after I got off the ice, I knew I was going to play,” Garon said after making 22 of 24 saves against the Blues. “I could feel it a couple of times (during the game), but it didn’t bother me.”

Only a few minutes after Kariya’s goal, the Blue Jackets gave Garon some offensive support.Columbus’ Raffi Torres took a stretch pass from teammate Kris Russell and scored the first of his two goals in the game for Fujitsu lifebook t4220 battery. Torres sent a wrist shot on net, and it deflected off the stick of Mike Weaver before sneaking past Mason.Weaver was victimized on the Blues Jackets’ first two goals Monday.

A shot by Derick Brassard later in the period deflected off Weaver’s left skate and bounced straight to Torres on Mason’s doorstep. He buried the easy look for a 2-1 lead in the first period for A1175 battery .”(Brassard) was actually trying to shoot that puck and I was in the right position to block it,” Weaver said. “It just went off my skate and right to (Torres). Bad luck, but you’ve got to work harder for your luck.”

Torres’ 15th and 16th goals of the season marked the first time the Blues had trailed in a game since their 4-2 loss to Anaheim on Jan. 7.

Keith Tkachuk tied the score 2-2 just 3:44 into the second period, and fortunately for Tkachuk, goal No. 11 this season didn’t go into the net like his last goal — off his mouth for pavilion dv2000 battery .This time, after a power move to the net, Tkachuk backhanded a shot that went in off the glove of Russell. Erik Johnson notched an assist on the goal, which was his first point in his last seven games.

The 2-2 score didn’t last long. Thirty-six seconds after Tkachuk’s goal, Rick Nash scored a power-play goal, his 22nd goal of the season, for a 3-2 advantage. After falling behind 4-2 in the third, the Blues hurt themselves with back-to-back penalties by Jackman and David Backes for ThinkPad T60 Battery. “We’ll take a step back, and we’ll look at it and address certain areas,” Payne said. “Some of them were puck decisions, some of them were battle-level areas. We’ll simply address those areas tomorrow.”
