Der Asus Eee PC 1018P/1018PB repräsentiert das akku sony vgp-bps8 Topmodell der neuen Eee-Serie. Im Vergleich zum kleineren Brüder (Asus Eee PC 1015P) ist das Gehäuse aus Aluminium gefertigt und aktuelle USB-3.0-Schnittstellen sind gegen Aufpreis erhältlich. Das Innenleben des 1018P unterscheidet sich nicht sonderlich von üblichen Netbooks und es findet sich der bekannte Intel Atom N455 mit DDR3-Support (1,66 GHz, Single-Core).

Darf es etwas mehr sein? Der Asus Eee PC 1018PB bietet neben den angesprochenen USB-3.0-Ports (2x USB 3.0, 1x USB 2.0) auch akku sony vgp-bps2a den schnelleren Intel Atom N475 (1,86 GHz, Single-Core) und einen Fingerprint Sensor. Gehäuse

Nach dem Auspacken fällt sofort das schlanke Design und die verwendeten hochwertigen Materialien auf. Der Asus Eee PC 1018P bietet sony vgp-bps9 akku durch das neue Design nicht nur eine schöne Optik. Die Bauhöhe des Gehäuses ist mit 2,19 Zentimeter an der dicksten Stelle deutlich gesunken. Unser weißes Testgerät bietet eine Kombination aus weißen, silbernen (Aluminium) und dunkelgrauen (fast schwarzen) Gehäuseteilen. Der Displaydeckel und die Gehäuseunterseite sind weiß gehalten und mit einem schicken Muster versehen. Der Bereich rund um die Tastatur kann mit einer hochwertigen Aluminium-Oberfläche überzeugen, die auf einem Stück gefräst wurde. Der Bildschirmrahmen, ist „Asus-typisch“ bei weißen Geräten, in einem Dunkelgrau bis Schwarz gehalten, der durch Aluminium-Optik gut ins Konzept passt.

Die verwendeten Materialen bieten zudem abweisende Oberflächen, die Fingerabdrücke und vgp-bps13a/b Staubablagerungen verringern sollen. Einzig der glänzende Bildschirm zieht diese magisch an. Die Verarbeitung ist gut gelungen und das gesamte Design wirkt in sich stimmig und modern. Der Displaydeckel ist dank LED-Hintergrundbeleuchtung sehr schlank, aber zugleich Verwindungssteif. Die Abmessungen liegen mit 26,2 x 17,9 x 1,8 – 2,19 akku sony vgp-bps9a/b Zentimeter (B x T x H) im grünen Bereich. Vor allem die reduzierte Bauhöhe fällt positiv ins Gewicht. Anschlussmöglichkeiten

Trotz gehobenem Preis finden sich an den Seiten des 1018P nur die üblichen Schnittstellen. An der linken Seite befinden sich ein VGA-Ausgang IBM T60 akku für den Anschluss eines Monitors oder Beamers, eine USB-2.0-Schnitstelle und der Kensington Lock Slot, der das Netbook vor Diebstahl schützen kann. Des Weiteren finden sich Lüftungsschlitze für warme Abluft, die sehr klein geraten sind.

Die rechte Seite bietet im Vergleich eine größere Schnittstellenanzahl. Es finden sich der IBM X60 akku oft verwendete 3-in-1-Kartenleser (SD, SDHC, MMC), die Audioanschlüsse (Kopfhörerausgang, Mikrofoneingang), zwei USB-2.0-Ports, eine RJ-45-Netzwerkbuchse und der Stromanschluss für das mitgelieferte Netzteil. Der Anschluss für ein Netzwerkkabel ist durch eine bewegliche Abdeckung sehr elegant in das Gehäuse eingelassen und fällt kaum auf. Die Vorder- sowie Rückseite sind bei diesem Gerät ausnahmsweise komplett frei von Schnittstellen oder sonstigen Komponenten. Den Akku hat Asus in die Gehäuseunterseite integriert (wechselbar) und die Stereo-Lautsprecher befinden sich im großen Displayscharnier.

Die Positionierung ist Asus aus platztechnischen IBM X60s akku als auch designtechnischen Gründen gut gelungen. Jede Schnittstelle hat genug Platz und die Integration in das Gehäusedesign kann überzeugen. Der Umfang lässt sich nur als „Netbook-Standard“ beschreiben. Für 429 Euro (UVP) bietet Asus glücklicherweise den Eee PC 1018PB an. Dieses Gerät bietet an der rechten Seite dann zwei USB-3.0-Ports und einen Fingerprint Sensor auf der Handballenauflage. Der Aufpreis von 30 Euro halten wir in diesem Bereich für gerechtfertigt und angemessen.

Kommunikation

Dem heutigen Standard entsprechend bietet das Netbook von Asus ein breites Spektrum im Bereich der Mobiltechnologien. Neben Lenovo T400 akku Gigabit-Ethernet (Atheros AR8132) findet sich WLAN nach 802.11n in Form eines Controllers von Broadcom. Zusätzlich ist schnelles Bluetooth 3.0 an Bord, wodurch eine schnelle Übertragung zwischen Netbook und einem mobilen Geräte gewährleistet ist. Genau wie der kleinere Asus Eee PC 1015P ist das 1018P Netbook mit einem Dummy-Schacht für eine SIM-Karte ausgestattet. Ob und wann es ein Gerät mit einem integrierten UMTS-Modul à la „1018PM“ oder „1018PBM“ geben wird ist nicht bekannt.

Lieferumfang und Zubehör

Der Lieferumfang fällt trotz hohem Einstiegspreis von 399 Euro (UVP) nur mager aus. Neben HP/Compaq Laptop Akku dem Gerät finden sich das passende Netzteil mit Netzkabel, eine Bedienungsanleitung, der 6-Zellen-Akku mit 44 Wh Kapazität und die Garantiekarte. Tastatur

Die Tastatur liefert insgesamt eine gute Vorstellung ab. Durch das gelungene Layout steht einer Akku Thinkpad T410 schnellen Eingewöhnung nichts im Wege, die freistehenden Tasten (15 x 15 mm) verringern darüber hinaus die Wahrscheinlichkeit von Fehleingaben. Tastendruckpunkt- und -Anschlag geben ebenso kaum Anlass zur Kritik, obwohl sie noch einen Tick definierter ausfallen könnten. Das Tippgeräusch geht von der Lautstärke gerade noch in Ordnung. Weniger gefallen haben uns demgegenüber die vertikal arg schmalen Pfeiltasten, die insbesondere bei Rennspielen nerven. Apropos nervig: Die Beschriftung der einzelnen dell m1530 akku Tasten ist dermaßen schwach, dass Zahlen, Buchstaben und Zeichen aus bestimmten Winkeln nur noch unzureichend erkennbar sind. Diesen Umstand sollte Acer so schnell wie möglich beheben.

Touchpad

Völlig unverständlich ist auch die Entscheidung beim Touchpad auf eine Hochglanzoberfläche zu setzen. Diese erweist sich im Praxiseinsatz als derart akku sony vgp-bps8 klebrig, dass die Gleiteigenschaften nur als mangelhaft zu bezeichnen sind. Display

Wie bei Multimedianotebooks inzwischen üblich akku sony vgp-bps2a verfügt das 15.6-zöllige Display des Aspire 5943G über ein Seitenverhältnis von 16:9. Als Auflösung kommen die für 15-Zoll Geräte typischen 1366 x 768 Bildpunkte zum Einsatz. Eine entsprechende Auflösung belastet zwar die Komponenten in 3D-Anwendungen nicht allzu stark, zum komfortablen Arbeiten mit mehreren geöffneten Fenstern ist das integrierte Display dagegen kaum geeignet.

Von den Werten enttäuscht das eingesetzte AUO40EC Panel leider auf ganzer Linie. Trotz LED-Hintergrundbeleuchtung beläuft sich die durchschnittliche akku sony vgp-bps2b Helligkeit auf lediglich 152.6 cd/m². Gerade Filme und Spiele lassen es dadurch an Leuchtkraft vermissen. Insgesamt ergibt sich ein Kontrast von mageren 174:1. Zum Vergleich: Top-Displays können oftmals mit einem Kontrastverhältnis von über 1000:1 aufwarten (z.B. Deviltech Fragbook DTX). Acer hat sich beim Aspire 5943G-728G64Wnss dabei für den Vierkernprozessor Core i7-720QM entschieden. Dieser ist mit 1.60 GHz zwar grundsätzlich relativ niedrig getaktet, mithilfe der sogenannten Turbo Boost Technik wird der Takt einzelner Kerne bei Bedarf jedoch automatisch auf bis zu 2.80 GHz angehoben. Optimierte Anwendungen profitieren zudem von der Hyperthreading Technologie, die es dem Core i7-720QM ermöglicht, bis zu acht Threads gleichzeitig zu bearbeiten. Auch die weiteren Spezifikationen können sich sehen lassen. So verfügt die im nicht mehr ganz taufrischen 45nm Verfahren produzierte CPU über 774 Millionen Transistoren sowie einen sechs MByte sony vgp-bps13a/b akku großen L3-Cache. Nachteil der leistungsstarken Architektur ist ein ziemlich hoher Energieverbrauch von 45 Watt.

Bei der Grafikkarte hat Acer zur Mobility Radeon HD 5850 von ATI gegriffen. Die DirectX 11 fähige IBM T60 akku und in 40nm Strukturbreite gefertigte GPU kann mit 1040 Millionen Transistoren, 800 Unified Shadern, einem Kerntakt von 625 MHz sowie einem Speichertakt von 800 MHz aufwarten. Der 1024 MByte große Videospeicher ist derweil nur mit 128bit angebunden, was theoretisch kein Problem wäre, wenn Acer auf GDDR5-VRAM gesetzt hätte. Die vorliegende Kombination aus DDR3-VRAM und 128bit Speicherinterface schränkt die Leistung gerade in höheren Auflösungen deutlich ein. Aufgrund dessen ordnet sich die Radeon HD 5850 des Aspire 5943G nicht im HighEnd-Segment, sondern eher in der oberen Mittelklasse akku sony vgp-bps9a/b ein. Der Stromverbrauch geht mit 30-39 Watt angesichts der gebotenen Leistung indes noch in Ordnung.

CPU Leistung

Der Cinebench R10 eignet sich sehr gut um die Anwendungsleistung IBM X60 akku verschiedener Prozessoren zu vergleichen. Im Multcore-Remdering wendet sich das Blatt und der Core i7-720QM zieht mit 10232 zu 8229 Punkte um respektable 24% am Core i5-450M vorbei. Während man in Singelcore-Anwendungen mit einem hoch getakteten Zweikerner also meist noch schneller unterwegs ist, kommt es in IBM X60s akku Multicore-Anwendungen primär auf die Kernanzahl an, ein Vierkerner kann sich in diesem Fall teils deutlich absetzen.

GPU Leistung

Bei den Grafikbenchmarks musste sich die Radeon HD 5850 DDR3 sowohl ihrem GDDR5-Pendant (MSI GX640) als auch dem äußerst beliebten Mittelklassemodell Radeon HD 5650 (Acer Aspire 4820TG) stellen. Im GPU-Score des 3DMark Vantage kann sich die Radeon HD 5850 DDR3 mit 5056 zu 2899 Punkten zwar um beachtliche 70% vor der Radeon HD 5650 positionieren, mit GDDR5-VRAM wäre die Radeon HD 5850 Lenovo T400 akku allerdings nochmals 40% flotter unterwegs (7089 Punkte).

HDD Leistung

Als Festplatte kommt eine 640 GByte große HDD vom bekannten Hersteller Western Digital zum Einsatz. Für eine Festplatte mit 5400 U/Min acer 5920 akku ist die ermittelte Übertragungsrate von durchschnittlich 68.9 MB/Sek verhältnismäßig hoch und bereits auf dem Niveau so mancher HDD mit 7200 U/Min. Die Zugriffszeit gibt sich mit 18.2 ms hingegen völlig unauffällig. Auf eine umfangreiche Partitionierung hat Acer im Übrigen verzichtet, die einzige (benutzbare) Partition umfasst 582 GByte.

Fazit Leistung

Die Anwendungsleistung begeistert HP/Compaq Laptop Akku auf ganzer Linie. Intel´s Core i7-720QM bietet dank vier CPU-Kerne und moderner Features wie Hyperthreading und Turbo Boost nicht nur eine ungemein hohe Performance, sondern garantiert gleichzeitig auch ein hohes Maß an Zukunftssicherheit. Die Radeon HD 5850 ist trotz des Verzichts auf GDDR5-VRAM eine gute Ergänzung, nicht zuletzt durch die Unterstützung für DirectX 11 ist der Nutzer mit diesem Paket auf dem neusten Stand akku der Technik.

Vostro 3300 Leistung

Ebenso wie das Vostro 3500 basiert auch das kleinere Vostro 3300 auf dem dell m1530 akku HM57 (Ibex Peak) Chipsatz von Intel. Dementsprechend bietet Dell dem potentiellen Käufer die Wahl zwischen Core i3 und Core i5 CPUs. Im kostengünstigsten Modell wird etwa nur ein Core i3 350M verbaut.

Unser Testkandidat war mit einem Core i5 450M akku sony vgp-bps8 ausgestattet. Es handelt sich dabei um einen Zwei-Kern-Prozessor, welcher dank Turbo einzelne Kerne je nach Bedarf hochtakten kann. Aufgrund von Hyperthreading kann der Prozessor bis zu vier Threads gleichzeitig abarbeiten. Im Vergleich zu teureren Core i5 CPUs, etwa dem Core i5-520M, sind beim i5-450M allerdings die AES Funktionen deaktiviert und die Taktraten fallen etwas niedriger aus.

In den Core i Arrandale Prozessoren ist der Intel Graphics Media Accelerator HD Grafikchip integriert. Dies ist auch die einzige VGP-BPS8a Grafiklösung, welche unserem Testgerät zur Verfügung steht. Die Leistung des GMA HD Grafikchips ist für den Office Betrieb und leichte Multimediakost (Videowiedergabe) ausgelegt. Dafür kann dieser beim Energieverbrauch klar punkten und bietet Hardwarebeschleunigung bei der HD Video-Dekodierung. Im Detail werden MPEG-2, VC-1 und AVC voll unterstützt.

Teurere Modelle bieten dagegen teilweise Konfigurationen mit eigenständiger GeForce akku sony vgp-bps2a 310M. Für den Einsatz als mit Office oder Internet Anwendungen ist jedenfalls auch der GMA HD Grafikchip ausreichend. Obwohl sich die Grafikleistung mit GeForce 310M natürlich deutlich verbesssert, kommt man auch mit dieser bei modernen 3D-intensiven Spielen nicht über minimale bis bestenfalls mittlere Details und geringe Auflösungen hinaus, womit sich auch diese nicht für anspruchsvolle Spieler empfiehlt. Das Vostro wird mit einer Arbeitsspeicherausstattung akku sony vgp-bps2b von 2 Gigabyte bis maximal 6 Gigabyte von Dell angeboten. Der HM57 Chipsatz würde prinzipiell bis zu 8 Gigabyte Arbeitsspeicher unterstützen.

Unser Testgerät nutzt drei Gigabyte RAM. Wem das zu wenig ist, der kann via Wartungsklappe an der Laptopunterseite problemlos selbst ein Hauptspeicherupgrade vornehmen. Allerdings sollte man damit auch auf ein 64-Bit Betriebssystem wechseln.

Die DPC Latenzen bleiben vorerst im grünen Bereich. Ein Ausreißen in den roten Bereich kann man durch Betätigen mancher sony vgp-bps2c akku Fn-Tastenkombinationen, im speziellen der Tastaturbeleuchtung, erreichen. Die Grafikleistung des Vostro 3300 entspricht unseren Erwartungen an ein Gerät mit integriertem GMA HD Grafikchip. So erreicht vgp-bps9/s akku es etwa im 3DMark05 2955 Punkte und wird damit vom Fujitsu Lifebook S760 mit gleichem Grafikchip aber stärkerer Core i7 620M um 14% übertroffen. Im 3DMarkVantage sind es gar +23% für das Lifebook im CB Shading +8% ebenfalls für das Lifebook.

Dagegen schneidet das Asus PL30JT-RO030X mit Core i5 520UM trotz eigenständiger 310M Grafikkarte sony vgp-bps13a/b akku auch bei den Grafiktest durch die Bank schlechter ab, wohl auch deshalb, weil Asus die eingesetzte Grafikkarte herunter getaktet hat.

Vergleicht man mit dem getesteten Vostro 3500, so kann sich dieses Modell mit eigenständiger GeForce 310M Grafikkarte bei den grafiklastigen Benchmarks doch erwartungsgemäßg deutlich vom Vostro 3300 mit integriertem Grafikchip absetzen.

Praktische Test mit Spielen wurden nicht durchgeführt, da Testdaten akku sony vgp-bps9a/b mit GMA HD bereits ausreichend in unserer Datenbank vorhanden sind und das Vostro 3300 in der getesteten Ausstattung ohnehin eher auf Office und Internetanwendungen ausgelegt ist.

Is It Too Late for Windows Phone 7?

Microsoft's completely revamped mobile operating system takes a fresh Sony VGP-BPS8 Battery approach to smart phones, but its unique strengths might not be enough to take on Apple and Google.

After Apple unveiled the sony VGP-BPS9/B Battery iPhone in 2007, it was the rest of the mobile tech industry's move. Google, of course, followed up with Android, shipping its first handset the following year. RIM has built the largest market share on the back of its great keyboards and long battery life, and it recently gave its operating system a better browser and more consumer-friendly aesthetics.

Finally, back in February, Microsoft unveiled its answer to Android and iOS: Windows Phone 7. "[It] should offer a number of features that enterprise users are interested in," he said, emphasizing the fact that various carriers and hardware makers have already pledged their support. Why Hubs Matter

For Microsoft, the Hub paradigm is what really makes Windows Phone 7 stand out. Hubs, by definition, let users customize how information is presented VGP-BPS13B/Q so they can view it in ways that make sense to them. "It allows users to focus on what's most important and works the way they want," explained Aaron Woodman, director of consumer experiences for Microsoft. In Your Face: Are We Ready for Smart Phone Video Calling?

The HTC Evo 4G, iPhone 4, and Samsung Epic 4G are among some of the first superphones equipped with cameras on the front, which are designed to enable two-way video calls. Although video calling may seem like it has come out of nowhere, the technology has been in the works for a very long time. User Experience is Key

Although Apple’s FaceTime is currently limited to Wi-Fi only, he feels that this constraint allows for better performance. Services such as Fring are also enabling smart phone owners to conduct two-way VGP-BPS13/B video calls. At first, users were able to dial Skype numbers on the desktop. However, that relationship recently fell apart, presumably because Skype is gearing up to offer its own service. Still, Fring members can easily chat with each other.
